How a resilient supply chain delivers Reliable PCBs

In today’s fast-paced and interconnected world, reliability isn’t just a feature—it’s an expectation. More powerful and advanced technology with increasing size constraints, complex designs, heat management, signal integrity, and long lifespan demands are constant challenges. Choosing a PCB supplier that prioritizes quality and resilience in all aspects is essential. At NCAB Group we understand that failure is not an option. That’s why we go beyond just delivering reliable PCBs; we focus on building reliability into every stage in our production and business to meet the challenges of tomorrow.

Why supply chain resilience matters for reliable PCBs

Reliability begins with a resilient supply chain. A product is only as reliable as the materials, processes, and people behind it. In an era of unpredictable global challenges – from material shortages, logistic disruptions to economic volatility – a reliable PCB producer must be ready to adapt.

A stable business model designed to adapt to change

We don´t own any factories, instead we purchase our products from a network of qualified production partners across the globe. This approach allows us to remain flexible, scalable, and resilient – qualities that a single-site or single-region operation may struggle to achieve. Our Factory Management teams in Asia, Europe, and the US plays a key role in our quality and sustainability work with our factories. They work closely with our main factories to ensure production quality through auditing and optimization of production processes and sustainability practices. Every main factory has their performance constantly tracked on elements such as quality, delivery reliability, and sustainability, along with their levels of service and commercial viability. With our local companies and Factory Management teams building strong relationships with the factories, we are always given the best possible support, and our orders are a top priority.

Our approach to supply chain resilience

Our commitment to supply chain resilience is built on these core principles:

  • Choosing the right factories to work with
Finding a PCB factory is not so difficult, but finding a reliable factory is. With over 2700 PCB factories globally, you must be sure of the source to achieve good quality and delivery performance. We have a comprehensive multi-step sourcing process that help us identify and qualify the right factories that match your requirements. The process includes the collection and analysis of performance data and manufacturing capacity, factory visits, and the verification of PCB samples. We only use the factory for what it is good at – for the technology and volume that they can manufacture reliably, ensuring that we meet performance expectations. This quality-first approach ensures that the factory´s performance for us and our customers is in line with our expectations of higher than industry average quality and delivery performance.

  • Global network of factories/suppliers
Since we have cooperation with factories in Asia, Europe, and the USA, and our own Factory Management working closely onsite, we’re able to mitigate risks tied to geographic limitations or disruptions. This global reach ensures we can consistently meet your demands, regardless of external challenges. And, should anything happen that makes it impossible to produce your PCBs in a specific factory, we can easily, with your approval, move the production in a structured and controlled fashion to another of our approved factories.

  • Sustainable business
We believe that sustainability is an important part of being resilient. This means we must ensure that our suppliers act responsibly from an environmental, social, and ethical perspective. The factories we work with must sign and comply with our Code of Conduct and fulfil other requirements regarding certification and compliance with legislation, and for our main factories, they must also successfully complete a sustainability audit. By securing that the factories follow these laws and regulations, it also minimizes the risks of factory closings due to conflicts with local laws and regulations, which would negatively affect your supply. Reducing waste in our production processes, increasing increase energy efficiency, and using renewable energy in PCB production are some of the goals we have set to minimize our environmental impact. Together with our suppliers and customers, we want to create a more sustainable industry with growth and profitability for all.

  • Data security
Protecting sensitive customer information is critical. We implement stringent security protocols to safeguard intellectual property (IP) and maintain confidentiality throughout the supply chain. For more sensitive projects, such as defense, an additional layer of information security is applied.

  • Compliance
Adhering to PCB standards and other customer demands is a fundamental part of our commitment to reliability and quality. We ensure that all PCBs we produce for you meets stringent global requirements – from generic standards as IPC specifications, ISO certifications, and RoHS compliance, to standards for specific industries/applications. For example, for projects with AS/EN9100 requirements, we will ensure that processes and production is carried out as specified for high-reliability aerospace products, including, but not limited to, the choice of material, production management, and quality control.

  • Financial strength
Resilience and reliability are underpinned by financial stability. We have had a stable financial development since our beginning, and thanks to this, we are able to work on continuously improving quality and delivery performance across a demanding range of industry sectors, even in times of economic uncertainty. This financial resilience ensures that we can support you as a customer over the long term, being a partner to depend on through all kind of challenges.

  • Our own PCB specification
We have our own PCB specification that in many steps goes beyond IPC standards. Our purchasing power gives us leverage to ensure that the factories we work with implement our specifications. These standards ensure that every PCB we produce exceeds industry requirements, providing additional layers of reliability.

  • Onsite quality control
We believe that being onsite and working directly with the factories is key to delivering quality. Our Factory Management teams work closely with the factories, our quality engineers are directly responsible for the factories’ performance, as well as for building relationships and working proactively with them to achieve improvements. Our QC engineers confirm that PCBs are manufactured and verified according to our specifications. Continuous monitoring and follow-up of factories are particularly important since errors that arise later in the process are more costly and time consuming. It also aims to ensure that the factories act responsibly from an environmental, social, and ethical perspective.

  • Knowledge leadership and innovation
To keep up with the quick development of the electronic industry and be able to offer you best possible PCBs, we actively participate in key industry committees, research and development projects, and collaborative innovation initiatives. Our Technical Council, a dedicated team focused on staying at the forefront of PCB advancements, ensures that we remain ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies. This council drives knowledge sharing, fosters technical expertise, and keeps us and our customers well-informed on the latest innovations.

In summary: reliability you can trust, built to last

We understand that our customers rely on our products to support their own high-stakes operations. Every PCB we deliver is subject to stringent quality checks and testing, from initial design through to final production.

Choosing a PCB supplier is a long-term investment in your own product’s success. By focusing on resilience at every stage—through trusted partnerships, financial stability, a flexible global model, and rigorous quality standards – we’re able to offer reliable PCBs that meet the demands of today’s world and the challenges of tomorrow.
